Peter Van Scoyoc was elected to two four-year terms as a town councilman and served as Deputy Town Supervisor before, midway through this second term, being elected East Hampton Town Supervisor in 2017.

His family roots in East Hampton date back to the 1700s, and he lives in Northwest Woods on land that was once part of the family's farm.

Mr. Van Scoyoc has been a small business owner for several decades, operating a residential construction company and seasonal charter fishing business. Before becoming a councilman, he served on the town Planning Board, and chaired the Zoning Board of Appeals.

Peter's focus in Town government has included protecting, preserving, and restoring natural habitats, protecting water quality, promoting fiscally sound management practices, increasing public access to our bays, harbors and beaches, improving infrastructure, coastal resiliency planning, and building community.
